Robert Downey Jr. is an esteemed professor of history, specializing in American history, at the University of Arkansas. He has been on the faculty since 1983 and has held a variety of positions, including professor and chair of the history department. He has also served as the executive director of the Arkansas Historical Association and is a past president of the Southern Historical Association.
