→ Birth registration certificate is a personal event certificate. This certificate is required for school admission, recommendation of citizenship certificate and other purposes.
2. Who are citizens?
→ A person who resides in any state and has the legal right to use the property rights granted by the state is called a citizen.
3. What is citizenship?
→ The certificate that any citizen receives from the state as his identity is called a citizenship certificate.
4. What is National Identity Card? Why is this necessary?
→ National identity card is a multi-purpose certificate with national identity that contains personal and biological details of citizens, it is necessary because after taking this letter, the citizen's national identity can be used as a voter ID card, used to get public services.
5. Explain the types of citizenship granted under Nepal's constitutional system.
→ i. Descendant citizenship
- Any person whose parents are Nepali citizens and whose parents are not identified, but found within the borders of Nepal, will receive the citizenship of the descendants after reaching the specified age.
ii. Naturalized citizenship
- Citizens born in Nepal and living in Nepal from a mother who is a citizen of Nepal and a father who is a foreign citizen can get recognized citizenship, similarly a foreign woman married to a Nepali citizen can also get recognized citizenship of Nepal.
iii. Honorary citizenship
- Honorary citizenship can be granted to any foreign citizen who has made a special contribution to Nepal's interest, pride and establishment.
iv. Non-Resident Nepali Citizenship
- A person who has acquired citizenship of a foreign country other than a South Asian Regional Cooperation Organization member state whose parents were Nepali citizens can be granted to a non-resident Nepali citizen if he later acquired the citizenship of a foreign country.
