1. Why Terai region is called granary of Nepal?

= The Terai region of Nepal is called the granary because of the flat topography of the Terai, fertile soil and irrigation facilities, agriculture is more popular. Rice and wheat are abundantly produced here as food crops, jute, cotton, tea, oilseeds, tobacco, sugarcane and various types of fruits are the main cash crops here as various types of food grains and cash crops are produced in this province, so it is called granary.

2. Mention the reason for low population density in Himalayan region.

= Due to the low population density in the Himalayan region, the Himalayan region is very cold at an altitude of 8,848.86 meters above sea level. The area above 5,000 meters is always covered with snow which makes it very cold and uninhabitable.

3. Mention the geographical features of the interior Madhes.

= i.Terai plains: This low-lying area is the northern part of the Madhes and is characterized by flat, alluvial plains covered with dense jungle and marshland.

ii. Churia Hills: This is a series of low-lying hills that run parallel to the Terai plains and are composed of sedimentary rocks.

iii. Mahabharat Range: This range of hills lies in the western part of the Madhes and is characterized by rugged terrain and deep valleys.

4. How was the land form of Nepal created? Discuss.

= About seven million years ago, at the beginning of the Tertiary Era, there was a Tethys Sea between Angaraland in Central Siberia and South India. After many years, along with the flow of the rivers, the stones, sand, soil, etc. brought by them were accumulated and the rocks were formed in many layers at the bottom of the sea. In the middle of the Tertiary era, the great force of mountain building moved southward, which was stopped by the Deccan region of Bhar. As a result, the rocks of the ocean rose up from the bottom and many mountains were formed. A few years later another force led to the creation of the Mahabharata series.

1. Describe the climatic vegetation of Nepal based on landforms.

→ There are differences in climate, weather and vegetation according to the topography of Nepal. Summer climate is found in Terai land from 60 meters to 600 meters above sea level. Bakla and Dhanajungal are located here. Many types of vegetation including Sal, Sisau etc. are found in the whole range. The climate in the hilly region is cooler than that of the plains, with altitudes ranging from 600 m to 3300 m. From 2500 meters to the peak of Mount Everest, there is a Himalayan region. The climate here is cool and there are high mountain ranges.

2. What kind of impact has the land form of Nepal had on people's lives? Explain with examples.

→ The Western nature of Nepal affects the lifestyle, living standards, etc. in people's lives. It also affects the health, economy, development and lifestyle of people, the Himalayan region is cold throughout the year. The climate and soil of the Himalayan region are suitable for agriculture. To avoid the extreme cold, people here wear their clothes and tochas. They drink hot tea with salt and ghee. They live in stone-built houses with mud roofs. Animal husbandry is their main occupation.

= Nepal's landforms are diverse and complex, with landscape, topography, and geological features. The range is made up of snow-capped peaks, deep ravines and high ridges.
At lower elevations, the rolling foothills are made up of valleys and flat plains. It is also covered in forests and jungles with many rivers and streams. In the south west the land rises to the high Himalayan peaks. It includes Mount Everest and some of the tallest peaks in the world.
The southern third of Nepal is largely made up of the Terai region, home to many of the country's major cities. The region is subject to heavy monsoon years and floods, the Koshi River being the major source of floods. Other rivers in this region are Narayani and Koshi.
